A consultative event was held in Kavadarci to promote inter-municipal cooperation regarding the amendments and supplements to the Law on Inter-Municipal Cooperation. Within the framework of the event, the State Secretary, MA Julijana Pavkovska Bocevska, and the Head of the Local Self-Government Sector, Suzana Najkova, presented the activities that the Ministry of Local Self-Government is implementing to promote inter-municipal cooperation and implement the recommendations of the assessment missions in democratic institutions and public administration reform.
The proposed legal solutions were presented, developed based on comparative analyses, a legal review of the national framework and a harmonization assessment of the existing legal solutions. The consultative process continues with the active involvement of all stakeholders, to ensure a modern and functional legal framework that will support municipalities in the more efficient exercise of their competencies. The activity is being implemented within the framework of the project "Strengthening Municipal Councils - Phase 2" implemented by UNDP.
