The Minister of Local Self-Government, Zlatko Perinski, and the Director of the Agency for Innovation, Scientific and Technological Development and Entrepreneurship – INOVA, Daniela Dimovska, agreed on several joint activities that will connect municipalities, youth and the private sector in the field of innovation. Through the Resource Center for Support of Municipalities, which is a mechanism for strengthening local capacities, municipalities will gain easier access to the programs and support instruments offered by INOVA, as well as the opportunity to transform their real needs into concrete innovative solutions.
Within the framework of the cooperation, the two institutions will jointly create public calls that will arise from the needs of the municipalities. Through its grant programs, INOVA will provide financial support for startups, innovative companies and entrepreneurs who will develop practical and applicable solutions to local challenges. The implementation of the "Months of Internship" program has also been agreed, through which students will have the opportunity to get to know the functioning of local self-government up close.
At the same time, municipalities will have the opportunity to involve young people who, with their knowledge, ideas and modern approaches, will be able to contribute to the improvement of some of the administrative processes and services.
In the coming period, the Ministry of Local Self-Government and INOVA will continue with the implementation of new joint activities aimed at strengthening local capacities, greater inclusion of young people and encouraging innovations in the function of the development of municipalities.
