Seventh session of the Coordinating Body for Monitoring the Implementation of the Program for Sustainable Local Development and Decentralization

Today, the seventh session of the Coordinating Body for Monitoring the Implementation of the Program for Sustainable Local Development and Decentralization 2021-2026 and the Action Plans for the Implementation of the Program for Sustainable Local Development and Decentralization 2021-2026 was held, chaired by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Local Self-Government. The session was attended by representatives from all involved Ministries and institutions that are responsible for activities in the process of operationalizing the implementation of the Program for Sustainable Local Development and Decentralization 2021-2026. State Secretary, Julijana Pavkovska Bocevska, explained the Annual Report on the Implementation of the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Program for Sustainable Local Development and Decentralization, which will be submitted to the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, based on the entered data showing progress in the area of local development and decentralization for 2024. For a successful process of decentralization and ensuring local sustainable development, as a multi-sector process, the importance of active involvement of all stakeholders with full implementation of the activities envisaged in the Action Plan for the Operationalization of the Program for Sustainable Local Development and Decentralization was emphasized. The session also highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of Local Self-Government in strengthening the capacities of local self-government units, the activities undertaken for the implementation of the Government's program activities through the publication and implementation of Public Calls for Financing Capital Investments in Municipalities, as well as the ongoing establishment of the Resource Center for Support of Municipalities.
