The Minister of Local Self-Government, Zlatko Perinski, together with the Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski and other government representatives, was one of the participants in the event "Demographic Trends - Joint Action for Investing in and Utilizing Human Capital through the Five-Year Program of the Government and UNFPA". The event presented the five-year program of the Government and UNFPA for the period 2026-2030, through which key demographic challenges and utilization of human capital will be targeted. The Ministry of Local Self-Government, in accordance with its competencies, is already undertaking activities to enable coordinated allocation of funds from various institutions to achieve balanced development, with a focus on regions that lag behind according to economic, social and demographic indicators. The vision for balanced regional demographic development is mainly based on finding measures and ways to increase the attractiveness of regions for population retention by reducing economic and social disparities, strengthening economic and social functions, and creating greater opportunities for quality living.
