The Ministry of Local Self-Government participated in a formal event held in honour of the new cohort of Peace Corps volunteers, alongside the Ambassador of the United States of America, Ms Angela P. Aggeler, the President of the Republic, Ms Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, and the Minister of Education and Science, Ms Vesna Janevska.
During the event, Minister Zlatko Perinski had the privilege of meeting the new group of volunteers, whose dedication, sincerity of purpose, and strong motivation to contribute to our society reflect the highest values of service and commitment.
The long-standing cooperation with the Peace Corps stands as a strong testament to the strategic partnership and enduring friendship between the Republic of North Macedonia and the United States of America.To date, more than 100 Peace Corps volunteers have served in over 50 municipalities across the country, offering their expertise, experience, and unwavering dedication to local communities. Within the new programme cycle, volunteers will be assigned to the municipalities of Demir Kapija, Gostivar, Tetovo and Kičevo, where local self-government units remain fully open and supportive of their engagement and the fresh perspectives they bring. The Ministry conveys its sincere appreciation to the Peace Corps for its continued partnership and extends its best wishes to all volunteers who have chosen North Macedonia as the place where they will contribute to meaningful and positive change.
