Minister Perinski held a working meeting with Antonio Nicoletti, Mayor of Matera, a city of exceptional cultural significance, not only for Italy, but also and for Europe. 
On the meeting was discussed about the possibilities for exchanging experiences and promoting cooperation between Matera and the municipalities in Macedonia, especially in ​​developing cultural tourism, urban regeneration, and the application of digital innovative solutions.
The Minister presented the current activities being implemented in the municipalities, with a special emphasis on the digitalization of local services and systemic support to strengthen their capacities.
Matera, as one of the oldest cities, has experienced a significant transformation since the title of European Capital of Culture in 2019, from a forgotten city to today an example of sustainable development, urban regeneration, and smart use of local resources.
