The Minister made a working visit as part of the "Where the Heart is Home" caravan to the Municipality of Berovo, during which he held a meeting with Mayor Ruzinski and members of the Council. The meeting included an open and substantive discussion on the priorities that directly affect citizens and local development.
As part of the visit, an insight was also made into the "Low-Carbon Infinity Trail" project, which is being implemented within the first call of the IPA III Cross-Border Cooperation Program Interreg (VI-A) with Bulgaria, within Priority 3 - "Integrated Development of the Border Region".
The total value of the project for Berovo is 117,736 euros, of which 15% is provided as co-financing by the Ministry of Local Self-Government. Key activities include improving the tourist experience by improving the infrastructure around Berovo Lake, including the reconstruction of an off-road bicycle path with a length of 22 kilometers and the construction of a modern rest area for cyclists - Velo Hub. Tourism is a sector of strategic importance, which the Ministry is continuously strengthening through the full use of IPA cross-border cooperation funds.
