The Minister of Local Government held a working meeting with Olaf Mackay, Mayor of Valletta, Charles Deguara, General Auditor of Malta and Antonia Merchica, an expert on local self-government in Malta, at which they exchanged experiences in the area of ​​urban governance and development of sustainable and inclusive cities.  Some of the topics of the meeting were ways to develop urban cores, as well as an exchange of views on digital services of municipalities and their role in improving the quality of services for citizens.
Although the systems are different, cooperation with Valletta opens the opportunity for the transfer of European experiences in sustainable urban governance, digitalization of services and valorization of cultural heritage. The next step is to translate this communication into concrete activities and joint initiatives.
