The Minister of Local Self-Government, Zlatko Perinski, signed Memorandums of Cooperation with six higher education institutions, establishing a new framework for institutional cooperation between the Ministry and the academic community.
At the end of last year, the Ministry signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the University of "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, with whose professors and academic staff cooperation has already been established.
The Memorandums aim to connect academic expertise and scientific research potential with the real needs of municipalities, through joint action in areas that fall within the municipalities’ jurisdiction.
The signing of the Memorandums of Cooperation encourages joint action in the areas that are the focus of the Resource Center for Support of Municipalities and represent a significant step towards strengthening the capacities of municipalities.
