Key priorities of the Ministry responsible for local self-government include strengthening the legislative framework, developing the capacity of municipal administrations, establishing an electronic system for recording and monitoring, and implementing international best practices in line with SIGMA recommendations.
Through a coordinated approach and active engagement of the Commission, involving all relevant stakeholders, this multisectoral initiative is expected to provide substantial support for advancing inter-municipal cooperation.
The Ministry of Local Self-Government continues to carry out intensive activities to improve sustainable local development and the decentralisation process, with the aim of better meeting citizens’ needs regarding the quality of local services provided by municipalities at the local level.
