Do something good for your friend, for your school, for your municipality. By doing good and useful things, you learn something new every day, although I’am convinced that you already know many things, which we adults are still learning, Minister of Local Self-Government Risto Penov told them on the occasion of the European Cooperation Day in the Municipality of Centar.

- What we are doing now with our fellow citizens, with our neighbors from Greece, with our partners and friends from the European Union, you will continue. We implement projects that improve conditions in kindergartens and schools, projects for environmental protection, for improving health care, for opening new opportunities for education and employment of young people. Territorial cooperation programs that we implement with the support of the European Union are important for all of us, including the youngest. We are building values that are the foundation of our common European future. That is why it is important and good that we have the youngest with us today. They are the new generations for whom it is worth working and creating an environment in which they can realize and be satisfied with the achieved results, he added.

Penov clarified that within the days of European cooperation, special emphasis is placed on the commemoration of the European Year of Skills.

- In this time of rapid changes, especially in the field of technology, it is very important to create conditions for young people to acquire new skills, which will help them to be more competitive in the labor market. In this process, we also have the support of the European Union through the opening of the opportunity for students to volunteer in the implementation of projects for territorial cooperation. This is a good way to build our capacities, but also a great motive for young people to recognize the possibility of self-realization here, in the country, explained Penov.

The event is organized in a frame of the celebration of the Day of European Cooperation with the participation of primary school students, teachers and partners from Greece with whom together with the IPA territorial cooperation programs are implemented.
