With the support of the EU and the Ministry of Local Self-Government, the municipality of Gorce Petrov is solving an important issue for the citizens, the construction of a waste water collector that will protect the environment and improve the quality of life of the residents of the village of Orman, said the Minister of Local Self-Government Risto Penov who today inspected the final construction works.

This project is implemented within the framework of the North Macedonia - Kosovo Cross-Border Cooperation Program with a total amount of 329 thousand euros. Part of the sum was provided through the IPA Program of the EU, with the participation of the Ministry of Local Self-Government of 15% and the Municipality of Gorce Petrov of 11.8%, added Penov.

Minister Penov expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of the implementation of the project, which is of great importance for environmental protection and which solves an important issue for the inhabitants of the village of Orman.

The cross-border Cooperation Program of the European Union is an excellent opportunity for municipalities to realize important projects that are a priority for citizens. The Ministry of Local Self- Government encourages municipalities to prepare projects and apply to public calls for cross-border cooperation, but always keep in mind the real needs of citizens, he added.

The construction of the Collector is in the final phase and the project will be realized within the stipulated period by the end of the year.

We have a responsibility before the European Union and before our own citizens to use the funds in a transparent and accountable way and to implement projects that make positive changes by improving the services and quality of life of the citizens, concluded Penov.
