Milevski: The decentralization process should continue without delay

 

 

 

The Government is committed to continuing the decentralization process, and the first meeting of the working group for continuing the decentralization process was held at the premises of the Ministry of Political System and Inter-Community Relations.

- It is necessary to prepare a Draft Program for continuing the decentralization process with an action plan and proposals for the need to prepare appropriate changes that will ensure the transfer of competencies and resources from central to local government, said Minister of Local Self-Government Goran Milevski.

He says that the common conclusion is that the decentralization process should continue without delay and that the next government session should approve the information on the promotion of fiscal decentralization, as well as the revision of the draft document of the working group for expanding the decentralization process.

The working group was chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Political System and Inter-Community Relations, ArtanGrubi, while the Minister of Finance, FatmirBesimi, the Mayor of Skopje, PetreShilegov, the Mayor of Veles, Ace Kocevski, and the Chief of Staff of Prime Minister Zaev were present,  Mirjana Janeva.
