Today, the Government signed the contracts for the financing of 29 projects in the eight planning regions, with a total value of 422 million denars. At the signing ceremony, it was emphasized that the Government provides continuous financial support to encourage the balanced regional development of the planning regions and the municipalities, and it is expected that the allocated funds will be implemented in the most responsible manner. The policy for balanced regional development is highly positioned among the priorities of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, and its goal is to improve the well-being of the regions, reduce regional inequalities and improve the quality of life of citizens through the achievement of balanced and sustainable development in the entire territory of the state. In the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of economic affairs, Fatmir Bitici, the Minister of Local Self-Government, Risto Penov, and the Director of the Regional Development Bureau, Ramiz Redzepi, and the project financing agreements were signed by the directors of the Centers for the Development of Planning Regions. Funds for project financing are provided by the State Budget, Program for Balanced Regional Development for 2022. From these 29 projects in the most developed, the Skopje planning region, are financed 5 projects with a total value of 30.4 million denars. In the South-Eastern planning region, 2 projects are financed with a total value of 46.4 million denars.
In the Eastern planning region, they are financed 5 projects, with a total value of 47.7 million denars, in the Pelagonian planning region, 5 projects are being financed, with a total value of 50.2 million denars, in the Pologsk planning region, 3 projects are being financed, with a total value of 55.8 million denars , 3 projects are financed in the South-West planning region, with a total value of 56.2 million denars, 4 projects are financed in the Vardar planning region, with a total value of 62 million denars, and 2 projects are financed in the least developed, North-East planning region, but with the highest value of 73milion den.
